Classes of Membership

Depending on qualification and experience; the membership of the Society is divided into six classes:

• Fellows - To be appointed by the Central Executive Council in view of an individual having contributed consistently distinguished services over a long period of time to the uplift of the IT profession at home or abroad, or to an individual outside the IT profession on whom the Society wishes to confer an award to honor his services to the nation on the economic social/scientific/technological fronts.

• Members - An individual is eligible for Membership if he/she holds a Bachelors Degree, has attained 25 years of age and has practical experience in IT for a minimum of 5 years and has remained an Associate for at least one year.

• Associates - An individual is eligible to become an Associate if he/she has attained 21 years of age, has been associated with a profession in the field of IT for minimum period of 2 years, and holds diploma or Certificates in IT which is acceptable to the Society or has qualified the examination of the society.

• Corporate Affiliates - Corporate bodies and organisations shall be eligible to become Corporate Affiliates if they are currently utilising , marketing & maintaining Hardware or Software or are desirous to utilise/market or maintain IT facilities.

• Student - An individual is eligible to become a student if he/she has attained the age of 18 years and is pursuing such studies as will enable him to pass or gain exemption from the examination of the society.

• Affiliates - An individual with age not less than 25 years with practical experience of 5 years in his profession and who is involved with Information Technology shall be eligible to become an Affiliate Member. The Affiliate Member will not be entitled to vote or contest elections.
